Warhammer Escalation League Rules
The league starts 15 August and runs until 23 October. The ten week period is broken down into five two weeks cycles. The first cycle starts at a modest 1000 points and builds each cycle by 500 points until players have a grand army force of 3000 points for the last cycle.
The entry fee for the league is the purchase of a box item of at least $25 for your army. The only stipulations are that:
1) It be something for the army you intend to play and
2) It appears in your army list by the third cycle.
Players must maintain the same army throughout the league.
Players can join the league at any point so if you can’t start playing until the second cycle or later that is fine.
Players are not required to participate in every cycle.
In order to be eligible to win any of the league prizes or participate in the winner tournament, you must have played in at least three cycles.
Each cycle will have a featured scenario. Playing this scenario offers both players an additional league point. Also, winners of the featured scenario will gain a benefit for their remaining games within the current cycle. Only one point can be earned per cycle per player for playing the featured scenario.
Players can participate in up to four scoring games per cycle. A player can play the same opponent twice within a cycle and have both games count, but additional games do not count toward their league score.
Scoring for games is a simple point system:
1) Win = 3 points
2) Draw = 2 points
3) Loss = 1 point
Game results need to be recorded at the POS within the store. A record sheet will be available for each cycle.
All models for the league are required to be assembled and placed on bases in order to be used in league play. Painting and basing – while strongly encouraged – are not required.
Only current Games Workshop Warhammer Fantasy Battle armies are allowed for the league. If you have a question about a possible variant army list, please see the league moderator Jonathan who will decide if it will be allowed.
If an army book changes during the league, players have three (3) weeks from the date of publication to continue using the old army book. After that they must switch to the new one.
At the conclusion of the league, the top eight players will be offered the chance to play in a tournament on October 30th. The tournament will consist of three rounds and will crown the overall champion of the league.
